Kenneth Rogers (Starkville) sank four free throws down the stretch to help Jones College defeat Mississippi Gulf Coast 61-57 here Thursday night at the Weathers-Wentzell Center.
The Bobcats improve to 11-3 overall, 3-3 in the MACJC South Division. It was the first home loss of the season for MGCCC.
The game was tied 32-32 at halftime and MGCCC led 51-50 with less than four minutes to play. But the Bobcats made the plays late to get the victory.
Rogers had a game-high 24 points to top the Bobcats.
SharDarrion Allen (Raymond) added 14 points and 11 rebounds. Zach Malone (Shady Grove, Louisiana) had 10 rebounds.
Casey Smith Jr. (Columbus) had five assists.
Jones was 21-of-55 (5-of-17 from 3-point range) from the field and 14-of-24 from the free throw line.
Dillyn Neely led the Bulldogs with 15 points.
The Bobcats will be home in A.B. Howard Gymnasium to face Copiah-Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
The Bulldogs, 12-2 overall and 4-2 in the division, travel to Hinds on Monday.
