No. 13 Lady Bobcats defeat Copiah-Lincoln, 81-60

ELLISVILLE – The No. 13 Jones College Lady Bobcats eased past Copiah-Lincoln, 81-60, here on "Sophomore Night" Thursday at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
Jones finishes the regular season at 21-2 overall, 13-1 in the division.
Jones will now serve as host for the MACJC Tournament Feb. 25-28.
An official tournament bracket will be released on Friday, but the Lady Bobcats will play Mississippi Delta at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Thursday's game was close early.
The Lady Wolves led 8-4 midway through the first quarter and would hold a 15-14 lead after the opening 10 minutes.
Jones took the lead for good when LaMiracle Sims (Moss Point) scored off an assist by Breonca Ducksworth (West Jones) to open the second quarter and make it 16-15.
A Keyara Jones' (Heidelberg) 3-pointer at 3:47 gave Jones its biggest lead of the first half at 33-22. The Lady Bobcats led 38-29 at halftime.
Jones expanded the margin and took its longest lead of the third quarter when Keyara Jones made a 3-pointer to make it 57-43 with 31 seconds left. The Lady Bobcats were up 57-45 entering the final period.
The Lady Bobcats took its longest lead of the game when Kyia Weathersby (Collins) made two free throws with 3:51 left to make it 74-52.
Keyara Jones led the Lady Bobcats with 21 points, including five 3-pointers. Ducksworth and Weathersby added 15 points each.
Maya Jones (Northwest Rankin) had six rebounds and six blocked shots for the Lady Bobcats. Ducksworth had six assists and Lekera Hughes (Oak Grove) had five assists.
Tamara Riley had 16 points for Co-Lin and Sha'Quandra Carter added 13.
The Lady Bobcats were 29-of-68 from the field (7-of-15 from 3-point range) for 43 percent. Jones was 16-of-24 from the free throw line.
Co-Lin was 20-of-56 from the field (3-of-14 from 3-point range) for 36 percent. The Lady Wolves were 17-of-26 from the free throw line.
The Lady Wolves had 44 rebounds and Jones had 40. The Lady Bobcats had 14 turnovers and Co-Lin had 20.
The Lady Wolves are 18-5 overall and 9-5 in division play.
