HATTIESBURG – The Jones College Bobcats placed four players in double figures and rolled to a 97-57 victory over the William Carey University Junior Varsity here Monday night at Clinton Gymnasium.
The win gives Jones an 8-0 record and concludes its non-MACJC South Division schedule.
Sophomore forward Shardarrion Allen (Raymond) posted his third consecutive 'double-double' with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore guard
Kenneth Rogers (Starkville) led the Bobcats with 22 points. Sophomore guard
Ladarius Anderson (Jackson Provine) had 19 and sophomore guard
Casey Smith Jr. (Columbus) had 14 points and six assists. Sophomore forward
Zachariah Malone (Shady Grove, Louisiana) had seven boards.
Jones held a commanding 52-18 lead at halftime.
The Bobcats were 38-of-76 from the field (50 percent), 10-of-24 from 3-point range and 9-of-14 from the free throw line. The Crusaders were 21-of-62 from the field (34 percent), 9-of-26 from 3-point range and 6-of-9 from the free throw line.
Jones outrebounded William Carey, 46-39, and had 20 assists compared to 10 for WCU.
TJ Henly led the Crusaders with 15 points. Jordan Brack added 12 and Chris Moody had 11.
The Bobcats, 8-0, will host Meridian at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 9 in its MACJC South Division opener. The game will air on JCJC.TV.
