ELLISVILLE – Nine players scored in double figures as Jones College blasted Blessed IJN Prep 137-66 here Thursday night at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
The Bobcats had numerous dunks in the game en route to a 70 percent shooting night from the field (58-of-83).
Jones led 57-32 at halftime and 113-66 with just over five minutes remaining. The Bobcats ended the game on a 24-0 run vs. the Gladiators.
Kenneth Rogers (Starkville),
Zachariah Malone (Shady Grove, Louisiana) and
Keyshawn Dease (Stringer) led JC with 16 points each.
Tradavis Thompson (Raymond) and
John Rawls (East Marion) both had 15 points,
Ladarius Anderson (Jackson Provine) and
Sai Fisher (New Orleans, Louisiana) had 13 points apiece,
Kevin Charles (Metairie, Louisiana) had 12 points and Shardarrion Allen (Raymond) finished with 11.
Casey Smith Jr. (Columbus) had eight points and
Sayveon Bumpers (Quitman) added two to round out the scoring.
Rawls had nine rebounds and Fisher added seven boards. Smith had seven assists and Fisher finished with six.
Jones, 2-0, will host Holmes at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The No. 12 JC women will play Holmes at 5:30 p.m. on Monday in their season opener.
