ELLISVILLE – Led by
SharDarrion Allen's near triple-double and four other Bobcats in double figures, Jones scored a season-high 62 points in the opening half and ran away with a 110-53 victory over the Royal Ambassadors Thursday night at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
Jones went over the century mark for the third time in five games and is off to its best start in three years at 5-0.
Leading 17-16 at the 13:08 mark of the first half, a
Zachariah Malone dunk sparked a big Bobcat run and they never looked back. Jones scored eight straight and would outscore the Lions 45-16 the rest of the half to take a commanding 30-point lead.
Allen scored 19 of his career-high 31 points in the first half, hitting 8-of-12 shots from the floor, and
Kenneth Rogers added 11.
Jones scored the first six points of the second half off a pair of dunks by Malone and Allen and the rout was on.
The Bobcats shot 49 percent for the night and held the Royal Ambassadors to 32 percent, including just 10-of-40 in the second half. JC scored 52 points off 44 Lion turnovers.
Behind Allen's 31 points, nine rebounds and eight steals,
Ladarius Anderson added 14 points,
Sai Fisher had 13 points and both Malone and Rogers finished with 11 apiece.
