TYLER, Texas – The No. 13 Jones College Lady Bobcats dropped a 4-0 decision to the Tyler Junior College (Texas) Apaches here Saturday afternoon.
Jones had a couple of opportunities early, but failed to capitalize.
Tyler took a 1-0 lead on a goal at 17:52 by Patricia Estupinan with an assist by Hitomi Kono. Debora Maciel scored at 28:07 with Jaia Riggan getting the assist. Maciel's goal at 29:53 on an assist by Anakaren Gonzalez gave the Apaches a 3-0 going into intermission.
Estupinan's goal at 47:39 on another Gonzalez assist ended the scoring.
Tyler had 11 shots on goal, compare to five for Jones.
Alexis Wilson (Long Beach) was in goal for the Lady Bobcats and had seven saves.
Jones, 6-1, resumes MACJC South Division play with a 1 p.m. game on Tuesday at Southwest Mississippi.
Tyler, 9-0-1, goes to Navarro College (Texas) on Wednesday.
