POPLARVILLE – Pearl River scored in the final seconds to upset No. 3 Jones County 70-69 here Thursday night at White Coliseum.
In the women's game, the Lady Wildcats scored in the final seconds and upset No. 3 JCJC, 70-69.
Trailing 69-68, PRCC's Destiny Williams scored on a putback with 8.7 seconds to play to lift the Lady Wildcats to the win.
JCJC led 14-10 after the first quarter before PRCC tied the game at 30-30 at halftime. The Lady Bobcats were up 52-47 after three quarters.
Alexis Tolefree (Conway, Arkansas) led the Lady Bobcats with 25 points.
Nique Cherry (Heidelberg) added 13.
ZaKyia Weathersby (Collins) had 7,
Chrystal Ezechukwu (Stone Mountain, Georgia) had 6,
K.K. Tassin (Terry) had 5,
Kira Bonner (Quitman) added 4,
Maya Jones (Northwest Rankin) had 3 and
Mackenzie Thompson (East Rankin Academy) and
Camryn London (Birmingham, Alabama) added 2 each.
The Lady Bobcats are now 16-3 overall and 9-1 in division play. JCJC is in first place with a two-game lead over Co-Lin and Southwest.
Gabby Brown had 25 points, including six 3-pointers, for PRCC.
The Lady Wildcats are 12-6 overall and are in fourth place in the division at 5-5.

Pearl River goes to Hinds on Monday.
