Balanced attack leads No. 10 Bobcats past Hinds, 93-69

ELLISVILLE – Tenth-rated Jones County Junior College placed six players in double figures en route to a 93-69 victory over Hinds Community College here Monday night at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
It was the fifth straight win for the Bobcats.
Jones is now 17-1 overall and 8-1 in the MACJC South Division. The Bobcats own a one-game lead over Southwest Mississippi and Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The game was close throughout the first 15 minutes before Jones began to take over.
Early on, Maurice Dunlap (Amanda Elzy) hit a 3-pointer to give Jones a 12-7 lead with 15:29 left in the first half.
Hinds came back and tied the game at 23-23 with 7:49 left in the half when Trojuan White made a 3-pointer from 30 feet away. The Bulldogs were down only 29-28 going into the five minutes of the half.
But Rickey Holden's (Laurel) free throw at 2:24 capped a 7-0 run and put Jones up 36-28. Tristin Walley's (Hattiesburg) two free throws with 31.9 left put the Bobcats ahead 42-30, as they outscored Hinds, 13-2, to close the half.
Hinds pulled within 48-39 with 15:37 remaining when White made a layup, but that was the final time they would be within single digits.
Holden would make back-to-back 3-pointers to give JCJC a 71-56 with 8:15 left. Joel Baskins' 18-footer cut the lead to 75-63 with 6:44 remaining, but that would be the closest Hinds would get.
JCJC would take its longest lead at 91-66 with 1:38 showing when Leito Holloway (Charlotte, North Carolina) made a 3-pointer.
Bruce Stevens (Bay Springs) led Jones with 16 points, Holden had 15, Holloway 14, Walley 13, Enrique Milton (Jackson Provine) 12 and Dunlap added 10. Holden had  four 3-pointers.
