ELLISVILLE – Jones County Junior College had little trouble in its first home game of the 2016-17 season.
JCJC placed seven players in double figures and defeated the William Carey University Junior Varsity 125-76 here at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
Xavier Howard (Pearl) had 23 points for the Bobcats, while
David Davis (Pearl) had 16,
Bruce Stevens (Bay Springs) 15,
Maurice Dunlap (Amanda Elzy) had 12,
Rickey Holden (Laurel) had 11 and
Leito Holloway (Charlotte, North Carolina) and
Kelvin Collins (Grenada) had 10 each.
Omar Steele (Laurel) led the Bobcats with 12 rebounds, while Stevens had 7.
The Bobcats outrebounded WCU, 52-39.
E.J. Collier led the Crusaders with 18 points.
JCJC led the game at halftime, 58-37.
The Bobcats, 4-0, host Itawamba at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
