Hanah Lott made five free throws in the final 33.1 seconds to help the Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats defeat Hinds 74-68 here Monday at J.D. Boyd Gymnasium.
The Lady Bobcats are now 13-3 overall and 6-1 in the MACJC South Division. JCJC is tied with East Central for the first place in the division.
Hinds falls to 7-9 overall, 1-6 in league play.
JCJC led for almost the entire game. The Lady Bobcats matched their longest lead at 65-49 with 7:13 remaining in the game when
Ashailee Brailey made a free throw.
But Hinds slowly chipped away and eventually got to within 69-65 with 46 seconds to play when Areleatha Gipson made two free throws.
Lott responded by making two free throws with 33.1 seconds left to make it 71-65, but Hiliary Kemp scored for Hinds to put the score at 71-67 with 25.7 seconds to play.
Lott was quickly fouled and converted a free throw with 24.8 seconds left to put Jones up 72-67. After Hinds failed to score, Lott was fouled again and iced the game with a pair of free throws with 15.5 seconds remaining.
It was a foul-plagued contest with JCJC being whistled for 36 fouls and Hinds being called for 28.

Wendion Bibbins each fouled out, while
Aliyah Bell,
Kanisha Tharpe,
Tatyana Lofton,
Zan Ratcliffe and Lott had four fouls apiece when the game ended.
Lofton led the Lady Bobcats with 15 points, while Brailey added 11.
Anna Wilks made three 3-pointers for nine points. Bibbins pulled down 11 rebounds and
Kanisha Tharpe had nine. Lofton had five assists and three steals.
Hiliary Kemp led Hinds with 18 points with Annessia Durham adding 12 and Gipson scoring 10.
JCJC was 23-of-56 from the field (5-of-18 from 3-point range) for 41 percent. The Lady Bobcats were 23-of-31 from the foul line.
The Lady Bulldogs were 20-of-61 from the floor (2-of-7 from 3-point range) for 33 percent. Hinds shot 45 free throws and made 26.
The Lady Bobcats outrebounded Hinds, 53-32. But JCJC committed 24 turnovers compared to 14 for Hinds.
JCJC led 23-13 after the first quarter, but Hinds closed the gap to 24-22 with 3:43 left in the first half on a Gipson free throw. The Lady Bobcats would lead 33-26 at halftime.
Jones took control in the third quarter and went ahead 51-36 with 3:01 left when Lofton scored. A Brailey basket from the right corner put the Lady Bobcats up 57-41 with 42 seconds to play in the third quarter.
The Lady Bobcats will begin the second half of league play at home at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday vs. Mississippi Gulf Coast. The game will air on
