TYLER, Texas – No. 3 Tyler Junior College erupted for four goals in a 17-minute span midway through the second half and went on to defeat Jones County Junior College 5-0 here Sunday afternoon.
The Apaches took a 1-0 lead at 14:02 when Riley Macleod scored off an assist by Kennedy Rose.
It stayed that way until 65:30 when Macleod assisted Kelso Peskin for a goal. Peskin then converted a penalty kick just 20 seconds later at 65:50 to make it 3-0. Mackenzie Posey then scored at 80:15 off an assist by Kie Asai. The final goal came when Asai scored an unassisted goal at 82:26.
The Lady Bobcats had five shots on goal, while the Apaches had nine shots on goal.
The Lady Bobcats, who defeated Cisco College (Texas) 2-1 on Saturday, are now 7-1 overall. JCJC travels to East Central for a 2 p.m. match on Friday.
Tyler, 8-1, hosts Navarro College (Texas) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
