UTICA – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats prepped for the MACJC State Tournament in impressive fashion here Thursday night at J.D. Boyd Gymnasium.
The Lady Bobcats crushed the Hinds Lady Bulldogs, 90-49.
Taylor Baudoin led JCJC with 18 points, while
Kadie Parker added 17,
Starla Daggans had 15 and
Jayda Simmons finished with 10.
The Lady Bobcats are 16-6 overall and end MACJC South Division play at 10-4, tied with East Central for second place. ECCC was upset by Southwest Mississippi on Thursday.
The state tournament will be held Feb. 23-26 at Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
If JCJC ends up third in the tiebreaker, then they would play Northwest Mississippi, the North's No. 2 team. If they finish second, they would meet Holmes, the North's No. 3 team. Either way, the Lady Bobcats will play on Monday at Mullen Gymnasium.
Hinds ends the season at 2-21 overall, 0-14 in division play.
