EUNICE, Louisiana –
Wendion Bibbins scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help Jones County Junior College to a 72-63 victory over LSU-Eunice here Monday afternoon at the HPRE Center.
LSU-Eunice held a 50-46 lead entering the final quarter before the Lady Bobcats rallied for the victory. The Bengals were up 21-17 after the first quarter and JCJC led 34-33 at halftime.
Tatyana Lofton added 20 points for JCJC and
Aliyah Bell had 11.
Kanisha Tharpe and
Ashailee Brailey each had six rebounds and Bell had three assists.
JCJC was 29-of-63 from the floor (2-of-11 from 3-point range) for 46 percent. They were 12-of-18 from the foul line.
Katie Lemieux had 23 points for LSU-Eunice and Becca Brooks added 17.
The Bengals were 24-of-63 from the floor (4-of-15 from 3-point range) for 38 percent. They were 11-of-12 from the foul line.
JCJC outrebounded the Bengals, 43-33. The Lady Bobcats had 11 turnovers and LSU-Eunice had 12.
The Lady Bobcats, 5-2, open MACJC South Division play at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Mississippi Gulf Coast.
LSU-Eunice, 2-9, hosts Holmes on Nov. 30.
