Trent Short

Trent Short begins his second season as an assistant coach for the Bobcats for the 2024-25 season.

Short's first year produced a 27-7 record and MACCC, NJCAA Region 23 and Gulf District Championships.
 
Short came to Jones after serving as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, the University of Mobile. Prior to that, he was a GA at Central Methodist University.

He oversaw player development, personnel and scout, the defensive side of the ball and JUCO and high school recruiting at his previous stops, coaching a combined six all-conference players and a pair of NAIA All-Americans.
 
Short was a three-year starter and two-time team captain at Mobile from 2017-21 where he holds single-season school records in three-point percentage (45.5) and made 3s per game (3.2). He was also a three-time member of the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) All-Academic Team during his career with the Rams. 
 
The Pensacola native prepped at Pace High School in Pace, Florida.
