Forty-year coaching veteran Tim Walsh enters his second season as Jones' top men's basketball assistant.
Walsh concentrates on the defensive side of the ball and works with post players.
In his first season working with the Bobcats, Jones was 10th in the country in turnovers forced/game, 14th in blocks and 20th in steals/game.Â
Jones won a school-record 30 games along with conference, region and district championships and had eight players sign with four-year programs, including the entire starting five to Division I programs.

Walsh came to Jones from Quincy University in Illinois where he served as an assistant coach last year. He had previous stops at Quincy in 1986-87 and 1994-98.Â
Prior to his last stop at Quincy, Walsh was associate head coach at Mineral Area College in Missouri, helping the Cardinals to a 78-10 record, three conference championships, a regional title and an Elite Eight appearance in the NJCAA Division I Tournament.

Walsh spent 11 seasons at the NCAA Division I level, 10Â with Idaho State University and one year with Wisconsin-Green Bay, prior to Mineral Area. During his one season with UWGB, the Phoenix went 22-11 and advanced to the College Basketball Invitational.Â

Walsh spent a year at Eastern Arizona Community College where he started the year as an assistant and was promoted to interim head coach in January, leading the Gila Monsters to a 15-4 record over the final two months of the season, an overall record of 31-6 and a fifth place finish in the NJCAA DI Tournament. He was named District I Coach of the Year.

Before Eastern Arizona, Walsh spent nine years, including three as the head coach at Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa, and won three national championships.

In his two head coaching stops, Walsh is 71-41, having coached 38 future Division I players, nine NJCAA All-Americans and four NJCAA Players of the Year.

Walsh got his start at Quincy Notre Dame High School from 1982-86 as an assistant coach working basketball, football and baseball. He also had stops at Quincy Senior High School and Payson Seymour High School in Illinois.

Walsh is originally from Beloit, Wisconsin, and a Western Illinois graduate.
