Jonathan Lucas

Jonathan Lucas enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with Bobcats.

Lucas enjoyed a strong playing career at McNeese, Northeast Mississippi Community College and Belhaven University. He was a two-year starter with the Blazers, earning CCS First Team All-Conference and CCS All-Tournament Team honors and helping lead Belhaven to a CCS Regular Season Championship.

Prior to college, Lucas starred at Hartfield Academy, where he was named 2021 4A Conference Player of the Year, MAIS 4A First Team All-Conference and led his team to a 2021 4A State Championship.

Lucas also competed on the AAU circuit with MBA Hoops under coach Omhar Carter, who has developed NBA talents such as Malik Newman, Monta Ellis and Rodney Hood. During that time, he played alongside future Division I standouts Jalen Reed, Jaemyn Brakefield and Kimani Hamilton.

Lucas is the founder of Jonathan Lucas Training, a skills development program for all age ranges and has coaching experience as a volunteer at Hartfield Academy as well as with React, a basketball-focused nonprofit organization.

Lucas graduated from Belhaven University in 2025 with a degree in public relations and concentration in sports communication.
