Steve Boyd begins his 23nd season at Jones County Junior College. He serves as defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach.
Under Boyd’s leadership, the Bobcats consistently rank among the MACJC’s top defensive units each season.
Boyd served as defensive line during his first four years at JCJC and coached several All-Americans during that time.
Before coming to Jones, Boyd taught history and coached at Philadelphia High School for seven years. While teaching and coaching at Philadelphia, he was also an assistant baseball and track coach.
A native of Starkville, Boyd completed his master’s of education in health, physical education and recreation in 1988 from Mississippi State University.
Boyd is married to the former Yvonne Nicks, also a native of Starkville.
