Marion Chapman, a native of Waynesboro, Mississippi, is no stranger to the Bobcat football family.
After graduating from Wayne County High School in 2010, he signed to play linebacker at JCJC. In his sophomore year with the Bobcats, Chapman earned 1st Team All-Region honors, lead the team in tackles and ranked 10th in the nation in the same category. he was a part of the 39th annual Mississippi Junior College All-Star game.
Upon graduating from Jones, Chapman continued his playing career at Northwestern State University. In his tenure there, he accomplished a 1st Team All-Southland, and 2nd Team All-Louisiana award, was voted defensive MVP by his teammates and coaches and led the Southland Conference in tackles his senior season with 123. Marion topped off his on the field honors by earning a Bachelors in General Studies with a minor in Social Science in December of 2014.
Chapman finished out his eligibility at the University of West Georgia where he led the team in tackles, was selected first team All-Conference and earned All-American honors at outside linebacker; that season, the Wolves would win the Gulf South Conference Championship.
Chapman begins his transition to coaching this year, bringing his football knowledge back to the JCJC football family.
