Travis Creel begins his second year as an assistant baseball coach at Jones County Junior College.
The former Ocean Springs High School standout finished up a successful playing career with the University of Southern Mississippi in 2013. He spent this past season as an assistant coach at Meridian Community College under head coach Dillon Sudduth.
Creel played under both Corky Palmer and Scott Berry at Southern Miss. A two-time captain for the Golden Eagles, he was a part of the 2009 College World Series team and three Conference USA championship teams.
An Ocean Springs native, Creel played his high school ball under Jesse Kanode and led Ocean Springs to a state championship his senior year in 2008.
