Christian Ostrander

Christian Ostrander has been the head coach at Jones County Junior College for seven seasons.
He has led the Bobcats to postseason play every season he has been the head coach.
JCJC was 30-16 in 2015.
Ostrander guided the Bobcats to an MACJC state championship in 2014, his second since arriving as head coach. He also led JCJC to a state crown in 2011.
JCJC posted an impressive 46-11 record last season and was ranked No. 6 in the final NJCAA Division II poll. The 46 wins matched the single season record for victories in a season. The Bobcats were ranked No. 1 in the nation for most of the season.
The Bobcats captured the 2014 state championship in the tournament, which was hosted by Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville. The Bobcats defeated Northeast (14-4, 8 innings) and Hinds (5-1) before falling to the Eagles (7-6). They then defeated Hinds (14-3, 7 innings) in the championship game.
The Bobcats swept Holmes in the opening round best-of-three MACJC playoff series before winning the state tournament.
JCJC hosted the Region 23 Tournament for the first time in school history in May at Community Bank Park. The Bobcats would finish second to Hinds in the tournament.
Ostrander oversees the JCJC pitching staff.
In 2014, the Bobcats led the MACJC and Region 23 and were seventh in the nation with a 2.92 team earned run average.
Ostrander has compiled a 255-109 record during his tenure as the top Bobcat.
Ostrander led the team to a second place finish in the NJCAA Division II World Series in 2011. The 2011 Bobcats posted a 46-17 record, won the MACJC state championship and its first ever Region 23 title.
The 2011 team shocked two-time, defending champion LSU-Eunice 6-5 and 8-7 to claim Region 23 Tournament title at Holmes Community College. He led the team to wins over Northwest (7-0), Holmes (6-1) and Northwest (11-6) in 2011 MACJC Tournament, which was hosted by JCJC.
He led the 2013 Bobcats to a 28-18 record, a third-place finish in the MACJC South Division and its fifth straight MACJC Tournament appearance.
Ostrander guided 2012 Bobcats to its third consecutive MACJC South Division crown and fourth consecutive MACJC State Tournament appearance, posting a 31-19 record. The Bobcats defeated Mississippi Delta in opening round best-of-three series in 2012 state playoffs.
In 2010, Ostrander led the Bobcats to their first-ever MACJC South Division regular season title, a 38-12 record, a sweep of Northwest Mississippi Community College in the opening round of the MACJC State playoffs and the host role in the MACJC State Tournament.
In 2009, he led the Bobcats to a 36-16 record, a third-place finish in the MACJC South Division, a sweep of Northeast Mississippi Community College in the opening round of the MACJC State playoffs and a berth in the MACJC State Tournament. It was the first time for JCJC to make postseason play since winning the state title in 2002.
Prior to coming to JCJC, Ostrander was head coach at Gulfport High School, where he led the Admirals to the Class 5A playoffs in both seasons. He served as recruiting coordinator and pitching coach at Arkansas State University from 2002-06.
He was the pitching coach, recruiting coordinator and camp coordinator at Delta State University from 1999-2002. DSU posted a 148-31 record during his three seasons at DSU, winning the Gulf South Conference West Division championship in 2000, 2001 and 2002 and the South Central Regional championship in 2001 and 2002. Delta State competed in the Division II College World Series in 2001 and 2002.
He received a bachelor of science in education degree from Delta State in 1997 and his master’s of education in administration degree from DSU in 1999.  He has been a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association since 1998.
Ostrander is a native of Monroe, La. He and his wife, Amy, have two daughters, Caitlin and Allie.
