CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Off to an 8-0-1 start with four NJCAA Top 15 wins, Jones College women's soccer is ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA Week 4 Poll released Tuesday, Sept. 29.
It's the second time in program history to be ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA. The only other time was back on Oct. 23, 2023.
Jones has victories over NJCAA Division III No. 2 Dallas College-Brookhaven in addition to No. 13 Southern Union State, No. 4 Johnson County and No. 1 Northwest Mississippi in NJCAA Division II. They also tied 1-1 with No. 19 Northeast (Neb.).
The Bobcats have outscored their nine opponents 29-3 with six shutouts.
Jones' top three scorers are all freshmen in
Karla Ovalle (six goals, three assists),
Maryanne Ward (five goals, assist) and
Dillyn Biancamano (four goals, three assists).
The schedule doesn't get any easier with upcoming matches at No. 3 Holmes on Oct. 2 and home against No. 6 Gulf Coast Oct. 6 and No. 10 Pearl River on Oct. 13.
