ELLISVILLE – No. 7 Jones College opened the season with two clean sheets over the weekend, defeating Southern Union State, 3-0, and No. 13 St. Louis, 6-0.
Off to a 2-0 start, the Bobcats host National Park College Aug. 28 and Georgia Military on Aug. 30.
Deadlocked with Bison after 53 minutes,
Kinson Smith blasted a left-foot shot through for a 1-0 lead.
Mario Novaku and
Dawson Dykes followed with goals in the 64th and 79th minutes.
Jones outshot SUS 13-4, including 11-2 on net.
Logan Correro played the full 90 and had a pair of saves.
In a rematch of the 2025 NJCAA Tournament opener against 13th-ranked SLCC on Sunday, Jones took a 3-0 halftime lead and never looked back.

The final shot tally was 17-4 in favor of the Bobcats.
Correro played the opening 63:17 and stopped two shots before
Aiden Reiter closed the match and was not tested.
