Karla Ovalle scored 31 seconds into the first half and set the tone for a lopsided Bobcat win Sunday afternoon.
No. 3 Jones (2-0) scored four second-half goals to race past St. Louis, 5-0, in the first-ever meeting between the two sides.
Dillyn Biancamano scored 23 seconds into the second half to push the margin to 2-0 and
Sofia Monico,
Maryanne Ward and
Brianna Kimbrell all followed with goals. Ovalle and Kimbrell added assists.
Jones out-shot St. Louis (0-2) by a 36-0 margin and held the Archers on their side of the pitch for nearly the entire 90 minutes.
Jennifer Huerzeler improved to 2-0 on the year in 61:54 between the posts and
Darby Ford grabbed her first collegiate action to close it out.
St. Louis keeper Morgan Farano stopped 15 shots but allowed five goals.
Jones is on the road for its next three matchups, all versus ranked teams, beginning Saturday against No. 13 Southern Union State.
