ELLISVILLE – No. 9 Jones College eased by No. 22 East Central 7-2 here Tuesday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
Jones is now 7-0 overall, 4-0 in the MACCC.
The Bobcats won all of the doubles matches.
Heidi Clayton (New Albany) and
Theresa Emelio (Australia) edged Ivanna De Gregorio and Shana Mao in No.1 doubles, 8-6.
Camila Piquín (Argentina) and
Maria Martinez (Argentina) beat Isabella Estrada Avila and Samantha Boykin in No. 2 doubles, 8-1.
Katlin Porcello (Oak Grove) and
Josie Tullos (Newton County) downed Cecilia Burroughs and Aaliyah Coghlan in No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
Martinez defeated Avila in No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-2 and Porcello whipped Boykin in No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-1.
Caroline Kilpatrick (Brookhaven) defeated Burroughs in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-1 and
Emily Rogers (West Jones) blanked Coghlan in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Piquín lost 4-6, 4-6 to De Gregorio in No. 1 singles and Clayton fell to Mao in No. 2 singles, 0-6, 4-6.
Jones travels to No. 16 Hinds for a 2 p.m. match on Thursday.
