FULTON – The revenge tour continues for Jones College.
The Bobcats thumped Southwest, 93-77, Tuesday night at Itawamba's Davis Event Center to advance to their fourth straight NJCAA Region 23 Championship Game.
Jones has avenged regular season losses to Pearl River and now Southwest and will try and make it three for three when they face No. 25 Itawamba for the title and automatic bid to Hutch on Thursday at 6 o'clock.
Itawamba beat Jones, 75-74, in Ellisville to snap the Bobcats' 19-game MACCC win streak.
Jones scored the game's first nine points Tuesday and led wire-to-wire. The lead was nine at half and as many as 22 with under four to play.
A steal and a slam for Southwest got them the closest they would be all night, 26-25, with 4:20 left in the first.
But Jones scored 11 of the final 15 points to take a 41-32 lead into intermission.
A trio of dunks and a
Wesley Lindsey four-point play highlighted the second half.
Braylon Barnes scored 15 of his game-high 26 in the second half and was a perfect 12-for-12 from the line. Lindsey had a season-high 17 points and
Dylan Rowe just missed a triple-double with 19 points, nine assists and nine rebounds.
Bob Dickson added 12 and
Jay Tyler 11 points, seven assists and six rebounds.
