GULF SHORES, Ala. – Five Bobcat pitchers combined to shut out three teams at the Coastal Alabama Coyote Classic at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex over the weekend.
No. 4 Jones went 3-1 on the weekend and improved to 10-2 on the year.
With a 7-0 victory over Southern Union State to open Saturday play, third-year head coach
Tori Dew recorded her 100th career win in just her 127th game coached.
Morgan Landry tossed a three-hit shutout to lead Jones to a 5-0 win over Enterprise State to open the weekend before the Bobcats dropped a 5-3 decision to Gulf Coast State.
In the first shutout on Saturday against SUS,
Anna Grace Whitehead tossed 3.1 innings and allowed one hit and
Abigail Lindsey the final 3.2 to grab her first win as a Bobcat.
Mary Kimble Price was 3-for-3 with a double, hme run and three RBIs and
Claire Andersen was also 2-for-3 in the leadoff spot.
Madison Sawyer tossed a five-inning no-hitter against No. 15 Central Alabama to wrap up the weekend, scattering four strikeouts and four walks. She was also 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and triple.
Jones travels to Shelton State on Wednesday, Feb. 18 for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
