Bobcat volleyball to host NJCAA Region 23 Quarterfinal on Wednesday

ELLISVILLE – Wrapping up the regular season 23-7 overall and 7-3 in MACCC play to finish fourth in the league standings, Jones College has earned a home playoff match.

The Bobcats will host Mississippi Gulf Coast (17-9) on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. in the NJCAA Region 23 Quarterfinals.

"We're excited for the opportunity to host Gulf Coast Wednesday," third-year head coach John Dussouy said. "We are looking forward to having a great crowd and it should be a really good matchup."

Jones and Gulf Coast split a home-and-home this year, with each team winning on the other team's home court.

Both the region semifinals and final will be played at the highest overall remaining seed after Wednesday's results on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

The Bobcats have captured region championships in each of their first two seasons as a program, the first coming in 2024 in Senatobia and last year in Ellisville.

"We did go up to Northwest and win it in 2024, but this is a different group," Dussouy continued. "However, I do believe with the right motivation, the right confidence, we have just as much a chance as everyone else in this tournament."

Tickets for Wednesday's match can be purchased for $11 at jcbobcats.com/tickets and the match will stream live on jcbobcats.com/watch.
