RIDGELAND – The No. 1 Jones College women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season on the road Friday, falling 5-1 to No. 3 Holmes.

The Bobcats trailed just 1-0 at halftime after a tightly contested opening 45 minutes, but Holmes pulled away after the break with four second-half goals.

Jones found the back of the net once in the second half, but it proved to be only a consolation goal as the Bobcats suffered their first setback of the year.
