GOODMAN – Jones went into the locker room up eight and led by 18 after three quarters to win its fourth straight MACCC game, 67-52, at Holmes' Frank Branch Coliseum Thursday night.
The Bobcats improved to 16-3, 5-1 MACCC and dropped Holmes to 10-6, 2-3 in conference play.
Jones has already doubled last season's win total and has matched its MACCC wins through six games.
The trio of
Lamarah Cleaves,
Jakera Ducksworth and
Sanyla Smith combined for 54 of the Bobcats' 67 points. For Cleaves, it marked her fifth 20-point game of the year.
Larissa Hubbard pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds, a fifth time she's grabbed double digit boards.
Jones shot 43 percent against 32 percent for the Bulldogs. Both teams really struggled from the free throw line, with JC going 11-for-21 and Holmes 9-for-23.
Jones scored 18 points off 17 Bulldog turnovers.
The Bobcats host Itawamba on Monday at 5:30 as part of Jack's Family Restaurant Night.
