GOODMAN – In a matchup between the top two teams in the MACCC Thursday night at Frank Branch Coliseum, it was the visiting and 15th-ranked Bobcats who flexed their muscles late to come away with a 79-68 win to remain unbeaten in league play.
Jones improved to 17-5, 6-0 in the conference and sits two games up. Holmes fell to 14-4, 3-2.
Jones has won 19 straight MACCC contests.
The Bobcats trailed 38-35 in a back-and-forth first half but outscored the Bulldogs by 14 out of intermission.
The lead was six with under two minutes to play before a late spurt and technical by Holmes pushed the final tally to 11.

Keron Jackson had two points and game-high 12 rebounds.
Holmes' bench did most of the work, scoring 43 of the team's 68 points.
A combined 70 free throws were taken on 50 fouls.
