Bobcats go wire-to-wire at MDCC for 17th straight MACCC win

MOORHEAD – No. 17 Jones College scored the game's first seven points and held Mississippi Delta to five first-half field goals to cruise to a 17th straight MACCC victory, 90-53, Thursday night at J.T. Hall Coliseum.

The 37-point MACCC win is the second-largest in the Newton Mealer era and they've won nine straight meetings over the Trojans.

Jones improved to 15-5 overall, 4-0 MACCC and dropped MDCC to 6-11, 0-4.

Wesley Lindsey hit back-to-back 3s as part of the 7-0 spurt to start, it was later 14-1 and then 23-3 at the midway point of the half.

Jones held MDCC to five first-half field goals and led 49-14 at the intermission, with Braylon Barnes scoring 16 of his 22 in the half.

A 14-2 Trojan run to start the second half pulled them within 51-28 but then three straight Bobcat dunks from Bob Dickson, Keron Jackson and Dylan Rowe swung the momentum back in Jones' favor with a 9-0 run.

Jones shot 52 percent, including 11-for-23 from downtown. MDCC was just 1-of-13 from three. Jones also owned a 42-26 edge on the boards.

Barnes and Tyler finished with 22 points each, with Barnes adding nine rebounds and Tyler six assists. Jackson had 11 points and seven boards.

Jadyn Garrett, Brooks Roberts, Riley Walton and Kris Carroll all found the scoring column.

Jordan Comanche had 16 to lead the Trojans.

Jones returns home on Tuesday *was Monday* to host East Mississippi at 7:30.
