CUTHBERT, Ga. – Jones College picked up its first two wins of the season over the weekend.
The Bobcats shut out Georgia Military College, 3-0, and beat Andrew College, 5-1, to move its season record to 2-2.
Matt Reed's brace and
Eskil Instebø's first collegiate goal lifted Jones to its first win on Saturday at GMC.
Joshua Goodwin and
Brax Rials combined for a shutout in net, with Rials picking up two saves.
Jones scored four first-half goals against Andrew on Sunday, one coming on an own goal and
Andrew Pearce and
Lucas Ekfeldt scoring their first of the season.
The Tigers got a 65th minute goal on a free kick.
Jones capped the scoring in the 75th minute on a long ball from
Stanley Georgiou just outside the Bobcat box that landed over the top of the Tiger defense where
Amin Eltahir scored one-vs-one with the keeper.
Jones welcomes Gulf Coast to Ellisville Wednesday night for a NJCAA Top-15 matchup. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
