WESTFIELD, Ind. – In a battle of NJCAA Top 20 women's soccer teams to open the 2025 season, No. 10 Jones used
Sherline King's 8th minute goal to defeat No. 16 Northeast (Neb.) 1-0 in the NJCAA Midwest Kickoff Classic.
Jones will close out the two-day event with a 4:30 CST kick against No. 8 Schoolcraft College on Saturday.
With seven freshmen in the opening-day lineup, it was
Graison Holder's assist and
Sara Kate Jefcoat's clean sheet that helped the Bobcats start the year 1-0.
The Bobcats outshot the Hawks 8-3 in the opening half and 14-6 for the game. The teams combined for 24 fouls, with Jones whistled for four yellow cards.
Jefcoat faced just two shots and saved both.
