Braden Smith drove in three and
Preston Scott had a big pinch-hit single in a 7-0 blanking of Holmes Wednesday to stay alive in the region tournament.
Jones will face Copiah-Lincoln at 2 p.m. Thursday in another elimination game. The winner gets host East Central at 6 p.m.
Marble shoved over seven innings for a third straight outing, allowing a pair of singles in the fourth and a seventh-inning single. He struck out eight against two walks.
Smith's RBI-infield single broke open a scoreless game in the fourth, scoring
TJ Dunsford after a leadoff single.
Back-to-back three spots in the sixth and seventh put the game out of reach.
Smith's RBI-double in the sixth, followed by Scott's pinch-hit, two-run single made it 4-0 Cats.
Evan Rogers doubled off the top of the wall in the seventh to score
Chase Russell and he'd score himself on a wild pitch to make it 6-0 Jones. Smith's RBI-groundout a batter later capped the scoring.
Micah Daniell tossed a scoreless eighth and
J.T. Elias, after loading the bases with three straight hit-by-pitches, a scoreless ninth.
