ELLISVILLE – The ball was jumping out of the park for No. 1 Jones Tuesday afternoon at Community Bank Park/Gwen Magee Field.
The Bobcats smacked seven home runs, three of them by reigning MACCC Player of the Week
Makynlie Jones and two from
Emily Mizelle, including a grand slam.
Jones blanked a pair of NJCAA Top 25 opponents in No. 23 Lansing, 15-0, and No. 22 Kankakee, 6-0.
The Bobcats are now 10-0 against ranked teams.

Breelyn Cain threw a five-inning no-hitter with 10 strikeouts and Jones scored in every inning in a run-rule to start the day for the Cats.
Jones led 2-0 after one on a pair of hits and pair of Stars errors.
Five more crossed the plate in the second on a bases-loaded walk,
Lillian Evans RBI-single and
Emma Moore sac fly.
Mak. Jones hit a two-run homer in the third as part of back-to-back-to-back homers by her,
Jayden Sawyer and Mizelle, and a grand slam in the fourth.

Jones improved to 4-0 all-time against the Cavaliers thanks to another stellar performance in the circle and a Mizelle grand slam.
Mak. Jones' solo shot in the third broke open the scoring.
Mizelle's grand slam in the sixth blew it wide open after three straight singles by
Claire Andersen, Mak. Jones and Sawyer.
Evans hit her fourth homer of the year in the sixth.
Sawyer punched out 12 against three walks to improve to 3-0.
Jones opens MACCC play on Friday, March 7 at East Central. First pitch of the twinbill is set for 3 p.m. in Decatur.
