PERKINSTON – The 14th-ranked Jones College Bobcats emerged victorious, 5-4, over No. 13 Mississippi Gulf Coast here Tuesday evening at the MGCCC Tennis Courts.
The five and a half hour match came down to No. 6 singles.

Luke Westmoreland (Grenada) rallied past MGCCC's Jordan Mitchell, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) to clinch the match for the Bobcats. That match last more than three hours. Westmoreland was down 5-6 in the final set and was able to break Jordan's serve.
The Bobcats are now 11-0 overall, 7-0 in the MACCC with just three conference matches remaining. The Bulldogs fall to 7-1 overall, 6-1 in league play.
The Bobcats won two of the doubles matches.
Diego Castellanos (Bolivia) and
Alex Holder (Madison Central) defeated Gonzalo Cotter and Ryland Buford, 8-5, in No. 2 doubles and
Ridge Jones (Northeast Jones) and
Reese Touchet (Madison Central) downed Mitchell and Nick Dulaney in No. 3 doubles, 8-4.
Matias Ruiz (Argentina) and
Tom Garrett (Australia) lost 6-8 in No. 1 doubles to Vicente Faria and Moritz Stroebel.
Matias beat Cotter in No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2, and Garrett lost to Faria in No. 2 singles, 6-4, 1-6, 4-6. Castellanos fell in No. 3 singles to Stroebel, 3-6, 2-6 and Jones lost to Buford in No. 4 singles, 7-5, 0-6, 0-6. Holder defeated Dulaney in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-1 and Westmoreland won took No. 6 singles.
The Bobcats are scheduled to play five matches in the Tyler (Texas) Junior College Invitational March 14-16 before going on Spring Break. They resume conference play at home on March 25 vs. No. 18 Copiah-Lincoln.
MGCCC travels to Itawamba on Monday.
