BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Lamarah Cleaves scored a career-high 23 points and Zharia Leflore had a 22-point, 11-rebound double-double as Jones swept the season series with Lawson State, 85-64, on Tuesday night.

Jones improved to 8-1, already matching last season's win total through nine games. The Bobcats are also 4-0 on the road, tying the four road wins all of the last two seasons. 

LSCC dropped to 5-6.

Leflore scored the first six points of the game as part of eight different Bobcats who had at least a point in the opening quarter. Larissa Hubbard and Jakera Ducksworth hit back-to-back 3s also to make it 28-8 Jones after one quarter.

The Bobcats committed just four turnovers the opening 20 minutes and led 47-31 at the half and game-high 70-44 after three quarters.

Hubbard added 11 rebounds to go along with 12 points for her seventh career double-double. Cleaves just missed a double-double with eight rebounds.

Julissa Claxton had a career night with 12 assists against two turnovers and Jones had 22 on 33 made field goals.

The Bobcats shot 47 percent for the game.

Jones goes to Wallace State-Selma on Thursday, Dec. 4 for a 5:30 tipoff.
