ELLISVILLE – Jones scored a season-high seven goals Friday night, four of them from
Sherline King, in picking up its seventh win of the season.
Jones moved to 7-1-2 overall, 4-0-1 in the MACCC and just a half game behind NJCAA No. 1 Northwest. East Central dropped to 2-7-1, 0-5.
The Bobcats struck twice in the opening 4:09, with
Magdalena Polrolniczak scoring in the 2nd minute and
Jameyah Hubbard in the 5th.
A Warrior free kick curled into the upper shelf to cut the lead to 2-1 in the 19th minute.
King's first of four goals extended the lead back to 3-1 in the 25th minute but a Raiyleigh Perry goal again cut the Bobcat lead to one.
Just before the halftime horn, King made it 4-2 Jones and the Warriors would get no closer.
Polrolniczak scored a brace in the 74th minute and King went back-to-back in 40 seconds to push the final tally to 7-2 Jones.
The Bobcats outshot the Warriors 31-2.
Winners of three straight and unbeaten the last five, Jones goes to Perkinston Tuesday, Oct. 7 for a NJCAA Top 10 matchup.
