PERKINSTON – No. 24 Jones capped off a 15-1 finish in MACCC play with a 3-0 sweep of rival Mississippi Gulf Coast Monday night at Dantzler Arena.
Jones improved to 27-4 overall and will be the No. 1 seed in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament that begins Wednesday in Ellisville.
The Bobcats host Southwest in the region quarterfinals at 6 p.m. The semis and final will be played at A.B. Howard Gymnasium with a JC win on Saturday and Sunday.
Against the Bulldogs, the trio of
Harmony Jackson,
Jensi Doise and
Alanah Fitch combined for 31 of Jones' 47 kills in 25-14, 25-21 and 25-18 set wins.
Mamie Fromdahl had 40 assists and MACCC Defensive Player of the Week
Olivia Guth added 16 digs.
Jones forced 22 Bulldog errors as the home team hit a dismal .009 for the night.
Cambell Herrington led MGCCC with 19 digs. Not a single Bulldog had double digit kills.
