BOONEVILLE – Playing its first-ever match as a nationally-ranked volleyball program, No. 25 Jones defeated Northeast 3-1 Wednesday afternoon at Bonner Arnold Coliseum.
Jones won its 13th straight match to improve to 23-1 overall, 13-1 MACCC. NEMCC fell to 10-21, 3-10 in conference play.
Jones won the first two sets 25-16, 25-19 before the Tigers rallied for a 25-23 third set win. The Bobcats won the fourth set, 25-21, and the match.
Izzi Barnes and
Harmony Jackson had 13 kills each and
Chelsea Daffin nine.
Mamie Fromdahl had a season-high 46 assists and added nine digs.
Sara Akins had a team-high 13 digs and
Claire Wicker 10.
Olivia Guth had three service aces.
Jones hit .282 against .169 for the Tigers.
Ava Siegel had 15 kills, Reese Moore a dozen and Eliza Whitenton a dozen to lead NEMCC.
Jones plays in the Pensacola State Pirate Invitational Oct. 16-17 against four nationally-ranked opponents.
