Jones, Hinds battle to scoreless draw

Bobcats are unbeaten last 10 vs. the Eagles

ELLISVILLE – An NJCAA Top 15 matchup lived up to the hype as No. 9 Jones and No. 15 Hinds battled to a scoreless draw Friday night at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.

The Eagles remained unbeaten at 8-0-2, 2-0-2 while Jones moved to 5-2-1 and 3-0-1.

In a match statistically favoring the Bobcats, Jones outshot Hinds 16-6 and had a 17-3 advantage in corners but couldn't find the go-ahead goal.

Jones' best chance came in the final minute when Xabier Souto-Rodriguez slid a shot inches left of the bar.

Matt Reed had three chances on goal that were all stopped by Hinds keeper Elliot Duffy.

Brax Rials posted his second straight shutout with four saves.

Jones is unbeaten the last 10 matches overall against Hinds.

The Bobcats travel to Copiah-Lincoln next Friday, Oct. 4 for a 3 p.m. kick.
