WESSON – Xabier Souto-Rodriguez broke a stalemate in the 64th minute with a flick of the keeper and No. 10 Jones posted its fifth straight shutout, 2-0, in MACCC play at Co-Lin Friday afternoon.

Jones improved to 6-2-1, 4-0-1 MACCC while Co-Lin dropped to 4-2-2, 1-2-2.

Evenly matched on paper and on the pitch, Jones scored on two of only four shots on target.

Callum Black added a penalty kick in the 85th minute after a Bobcat drew a foul in the box.

The teams combined for 30 fouls and four yellows.

Brax Rials stopped both shots he faced.

Jones hosts Southwest Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.
