ELLISVILLE – No. 6 Jones College cruised past East Central 5-0 here Tuesday afternoon at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.
The victory snapped a two-game losing streak for the Bobcats.
Jewel Hamilton got things going with a goal in the 13th minute with
Catherine Turner getting the assist.
Jordan Robinson's goal in the 27th minute made it 2-0 going into halftime.
Mary Grace Batson scored in the 70th minute and
Sherline King scored on a header three minutes later on a Robinson assist to make it 4-0.
Kerri O'Hara ended the scoring in the 89th minute with
Annamarie Edwards getting the assist.
Jona Hennings played the first half in goal and got the win with
Scarlette Roberts playing the final 45 minutes.
Jaci Willis played the entire game in goal for the Warriors.
The Bobcats had 25 shots and 14 shots on goal. ECCC had only one shot and none on goal.
The Bobcats are now 4-2 overall, 1-2 in the MACCC and will host Hinds at 5 p.m. on Friday. The game will air on jcbobcats.com.
East Central falls to 0-4-1 overall and 0-3 in conference play. The Warriors host East Mississippi Friday.
