Cameron Chamberlain scored a brace and
Brax Rials posted a shutout in his first collegiate start in net as No. 9 Jones blanked East Central 4-0 Tuesday night.
It's Jones' sixth straight shutout over the Warriors and fifth straight win overall (5-2, 3-0) after starting the season 0-2. EC dropped to 1-6, 1-2.
Scoreless into the 29th minute, Chamberlain redirected a
Landen Linares shot to give Jones a 1-0 lead.
The Bobcats outshot the Warriors 14-0 but managed just one goal the opening 45.
Callum Black changed that in the 49th minute with his third goal of the season.
Jones tacked on two more in the 71st and 88th minutes from
Xabier Souto-Rodriguez and Chamberlain.
The final shot tally was 31-1 Jones and 16-1 on goal. Jones also drew 12 corners against one for EC.
Rials needed just one save for the win. Jacobo Giraldo had 12 saves for the Warriors and allowed all four goals.
Jones hosts unbeaten and No. 15 Hinds (8-0-1, 2-0-1) at 7 p.m. Friday.
