ELLISVILLE – In a game of huge momentum swings, No. 15 Pearl River edged No. 16 Jones College 6-5 here Monday night at Bobcat Soccer Field.
Sebestian Kristensen's free kick in the 80th minute proved to be the game-winner.
Pearl River started off strong with two goals in the first 11 minutes. Drew Rumery scored in the second minute on an assist by Zach Howard and Kristensen made a free kick in the 11th minute to make it 2-0.
It remained that way until the final minute of the first half when the Bobcats roared back.
Callum Black (England) scored and 22 seconds later,
Matt Reed (England) scored via an assist by
Luke Dickson (Oak Grove) to knot the score at 2-2 at intermission.
Jones continued to surge early in the second half when Dickson scored in the 46th minute with
Xabier Souto-Rodriguez (Spain) and
Dylan Dykes (Petal) both receiving credit for the assist. Souto-Rodriguez scored in the 50th minute to put the Bobcats up, 4-2.
Tiago Honorio Jr.'s goal cut the lead to 4-3 in the 61st minute.
The Bobcats responded with a goal on a corner kick in the 67th minute when Dykes headed the ball into the net off Dickson's kick to make it 5-3.
But the Wildcats would then score three goals in a five-minute span.
Ace Crosby made it 5-4 in the 75th minute with Emil Corfitzen credited with the assist. Honorio Jr.'s goal assisted by Howard in the 77th minute tied at 5-5 and Kristensen's kick three minutes later gave the Wildcats the lead.

Joshua Goodwin (Oak Grove) had five saves and PRCC's Cameron Kent had seven.
Jones outshot PRCC, 23-14. The Bobcats had 12 shots on goal and the Wildcats had 11. The Bobcats had seven corner kicks and PRCC had one. The Wildcats were whistled for 19 fouls, compared to 12 for Jones.
The Bobcats, 0-2, host No. 3 Northeast (Nebraska) Thursday at 7 p.m.
Pearl River, 1-0-1, hosts Northeast (Nebraska) at 7 p.m. Saturday.
