GOODMAN – Five different Bobcats combined for seven home runs in a conference-opening sweep at No. 19 Holmes Thursday afternoon.
Jones won the opener, 7-4, and slugged its way to a 16-4 win in the nightcap.
The Bobcats improved to 14-6, 2-0 MACCC while Holmes dropped to 14-8, 0-2.
Jones hosts Hinds on Wednesday in Ellisville. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.

Reanna Nieman tossed a complete-game with 11 strikeouts and Jones rallied with four runs in the top of the seventh to grind out a game one win.
Tied 3-3 after six, back-to-back doubles by
Brooklynn Montana and
Emma Moore plated the go-ahead run,
Kaleigh Steverson added an RBI-single and a pair of fielder's choices made it 7-3.
Nieman allowed a run in the bottom of the seventh before getting a strikeout to end it.
Emily Mizelle led an 11-hit attack with three hits, including a solo homer in the third.
Jones 16, Holmes 4
Jones trailed 4-1 after one but would respond with 15 unanswered over the next four innings to take a run-rule victory.
Montana led off the game with a home run, the first of six in the game, and Jones scored a season-high 16 runs on 18 hits.
Makynlie Jones hit a solo shot in the second to help Jones rally to tie the game at 4-4 after two.
Jones hit a two-run homer to left in the third to give the Bobcats a 6-4 lead.
Montana hit her second home run in the third and
Jayden Sawyer added a three-run blast to make it 10-4 through four.
Gracey Harbour doubled in the fifth and Jones would plate six in the frame.
All nine Bobcats in the lineup had a hit. Montana was 4-for-4 with two home runs,
Meredith Fontenot was 3-for-4 with a home run, Jones went deep twice and
Elise Jackson and Sawyer had two hits apiece.
