PERKINSTON –
Reanna Nieman tossed a complete-game, two-hit shutout in the opener and
Jayden Sawyer homered twice and got the win in the circle as No. 6 Jones swept Gulf Coast Tuesday afternoon at Ross-Smith Field.
Jones improved to 23-9, 10-2 MACCC with the sweep and has won 10 straight over the Bulldogs. MGCCC fell to 25-13, 7-4 in conference play.
The Bobcats continue a six-game road swing April 3 at Southwest.

Jones homered in the first, second and fifth innings and Nieman cruised in the circle in a game one shutout.
Sawyer blasted a two-run shot to make it 2-0 after one,
Meredith Fontenot hit a solo shot in the second and
Emily Mizelle hit a two-run blast in the fifth.
Emma Moore drove in
Elise Jackson with an RBI-single in the fifth.
Nieman (11-3) allowed two singles in the first and fourth and that was it. She struck out nine and allowed four walks.

Sawyer hit her team-leading 16th and 17th home runs in the fourth and fifth and picked up the win in the circle in a five-inning run-rule victory.
Tied at 1-1 after one, the Bobcats scored 10 unanswered.
Sawyer kicked off a four-run fourth with a solo homer and
Brooklynn Montana added a bases-clearing triple.
Mizelle started off a six-run fifth with a walk and scored on Sawyer's third home run of the day.
Makynlie Jones had an RBI-single, Montana a two-run single and
Emma Moore an RBI-double.
Sawyer (8-4) allowed one run on four hits with six strikeouts.
