ELLISVILLE – It was a short afternoon for 11th-rated Jones College.
The Bobcats did not lose a game as they defeated Holmes, 9-0, here Tuesday at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
Jones is now 13-0 overall, 7-0 in the MACCC. The Bobcats will play Coastal Alabama-North on Thursday in Meridian followed by a Friday morning conference matchup at No. 21 Copiah-Lincoln and a Friday afternoon match vs No. 8 Weatherford College (Texas) in Raymond.
Jones won all three doubles matches, 8-0.
Matias Ruiz (Argentina) and
Charlie Brady (Australia) won No. 1 doubles,
Duvan Santiago Torres (Colombia) and
Alex Holder (Madison Central) took No. 2 doubles and
Dawson Do (Northwest Rankin) and
Hudson Hans (Moss Point) were victorious in No. 3 doubles.
It was all 6-0, 6-0 in the singles matches.
Ruiz won No. 1 singles, Brady took No. 2 singles, Torres won No. 3 singles, Do took No. 4 singles, Holder won No. 5 singles and Hans claimed No. 6 singles.
In extra matches,
Brooks Newell (Oak Grove) and
Ethin McKinnon (Vancleave) won in doubles and they then won their singles matches.
