WESSON – Jones College fell behind 9-0 to start Thursday night's game at Copiah-Lincoln at Mullen Gymnasium.
But the Bobcats fought back to lead by as much as 11 points before holding on for a 75-73 victory over the Wolves.
Jones is now 19-4 overall and 6-1 in the MACCC. The Wolves drop to 11-7 and 3-3.
Dimp Pernell's (Horn Lake) 3-pointer tied the game at 12-12 with 11:21 left in the first half. A
Ky Pernell (Horn Lake) basket with 3:42 showing ended a 13-2 run and gave the Bobcats a 30-26 lead, but Co-Lin would come back to go up 34-33 at halftime.
LJ Hackman's (Columbus) layup to start the second half gave Jones the lead for good at 35-34. Two
Dimp Pernell free throws gave the Bobcats a 63-52 advantage with 6:13 remaining.
Another Hackman layup gave a 73-63 lead with just over a minute to play. Co-Lin rallied at the end, but would come up two points short.
Dimp led Jones with 20 points and also had five assists. Ky had 15 points, Hackman added 11 and
Chaunterion Ward (Memphis, Tennessee) added 10.
Courterius Scott led the Wolves with 21 points. Avaughn Johnson added 19 and Devin Carter had 15. Emmanuel James had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Jones shot 46 percent from the field against 41 percent for Co-Lin.
Co-Lin out-rebounded Jones 39-22 and each team committed 16 turnovers.
The Bobcats will host East Mississippi at 7:30 p.m. Monday at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
The Wolves visit Mississippi Delta on Monday.
