GOODMAN – Holmes handed Jones College its second straight loss with an 81-72 decision here Thursday night at Ras Branch Coliseum.
 
The Bobcats are now 19-6 overall and 6-3 in the MACCC. Holmes improves to 16-7 and 4-4.
 
The game was tied at 28-28 at halftime, but the Bulldogs outscored Jones 53-44 in the second half.
 
Ky Pernell (Horn Lake) led Jones with 22 points, 
Dimp Pernell (Horn Lake) added 16 and 
Chaunterion Ward (Memphis) had 10. 
Dimp Pernell had seven rebounds.
 
Jalen Tatum topped the Bulldogs with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Cameron Wallace added 19 points, Hobert Grayson had 14 and Dacory Porter and K.J. Sykes scored 10 each.
 
The Bobcats were 23-of-53 from the floor for 43 percent, 4-of-15 from 3-point range for 27 percent and 22-of-27 from the foul line for 82 percent. Holmes was 26-of-59 from the field for 44 percent, 3-of-12 from beyond the arc for 25 percent and 26-of-40 from the foul line for 65 percent.
 
Holmes outrebounded Jones, 34-24. The Bobcats were whistled for 31 fouls and Holmes was called for 22.
 
Jones entertains Mississippi Delta for a 7:30 p.m. game on Feb. 22. Holmes visits MDCC on Feb. 20.
